Formerly Environmental Noise Control
ENC Engineering is a noise control engineering company
that specializes in commercial and industrial facilities.
ENC Engineering has over 30 years of experience
in the field of industrial acoustics.
The ENC Engineering Noise Control Design Team has over 50 years of experience in sound surveys and noise control engineering; providing timely, efficient, and cost-effective noise control engineering services.

ENC has completed over 80 sound surveys and noise analyses for either new compressor stations or additions at existing stations consisting of:
- Measurement of ambient or existing station sound levels
- Calculation of the sound levels for the compressor units
- Preparation of reports for FERC applications
- Specification of noise mitigation measures
- Evaluation of noise control material bids to determine compliance with specifications
- Post installation sound surveys to show compliance with local, state, and FERC noise regulations
ENC has worked on numerous projects solving existing compressor station and processing facility noise problems consisting of:
- Sound level measurements to identify the equipment producing the annoying sounds
- Specification of noise mitigation measures for the identified equipment
- Post installation sound surveys to show that the annoying sounds have been reduced
SERVICES

Sound Survey Measurement and Analysis
ENC will conduct both pre- and post-construction sound surveys to assess sound levels.

Noise Mitigation
ENC will determine sources of problem noise and provide specifications for noise mitigation measures to reduce sound levels to neighboring areas.

Environmental Complaince
ENC will work with you to ensure environmental compliance with federal, state, and local noise regulations.

OSHA Noise Surveys
ENC will perform sound surveys to determine OSHA required hearing protection areas.

Construction Noise
ENC will determine the impact of construction noise and determine reduction methods.

Community Meetings
ENC can attend community meetings to provide expert information and testimony.
ABOUT US
Mr. William Biker has worked for over 45 years in noise control engineering, providing clients with the measurement of machinery and community noise, the evaluation of noise control requirements, and the specification and design of noise control treatments for both planned and existing utility and industrial facilities. Since starting Environmental Noise Control in 1990, he has specialized in noise control for natural gas compressor stations and processing facilities. Mr. Biker also has experience in the control of shipboard noise and vibration for military and commercial vessels. He is proficient with noise and vibration measurement instrumentation ranging from sound level meters to two channel real time spectrum analyzers to PC based multi-channel data acquisition and analysis systems. Mr. Biker has for many years presented expert testimony in the areas of community noise and noise control.
Mr. Benjamin Biker joined ENC in 2013 and has been actively involved in all aspects of noise control for natural gas compressor stations, M&R facilities, HDD sites, and processing facilities. His work has included numerous ambient and baseline sound level surveys and post installations using meters with multiple parameter capabilities, and calculations of predicted sound levels from compressor stations and HDD sites incorporating noise control measures so that sound levels will meet applicable local, state, and FERC regulations. Ben has also worked at facilities addressing existing noise problems. These projects consisted of sound level measurements to identify equipment producing the problem sound levels, recommendations of noise control measures, and post installation sound surveys to demonstrate resolution of noise problems.
Ms. Jessica Biker joined ENC in 2014 and has been involved in all phases of noise control projects for natural gas compressor stations, M&R facilities, and HDD sites. Her work has included ambient and baseline sound level surveys, evaluation of noise sensitive areas, calculations of predicted sound levels from compressor stations and HDD sites, evaluation of predicted sound levels for compliance with applicable local, state, and FERC noise regulations, and generation of reports for FERC applications and in response to questions from local government. Jessica has attended a number of community meetings and made presentations for noise studies. Jessica is responsible for project and staff scheduling, preparation of project proposals, and coordination with project managers.
